Welcome to our web site!  Night time temperatures are beginning to drop, and the days are slowly getting shorter.  Fall is just around the corner, but even though the weather may be cooling down, we are not!  We have some great projects going on, and our fall service and Outdoor Décor holiday lighting schedules are filling up.  Read on to find out about our FEATURE LANDSCAPE, SEASONAL SERVICES, and TIP OF THE MONTH.  And if you’re feeling inspired to have some work done at your home, please consider allowing us to help you out.

FEATURE LANDSCAPE – “Butterfly Cottage”

The owner of this local residence knew she wanted a backyard that was both environmentally conscience, and yet inviting to people and nature alike.  She wanted a place that combined the essence of sustainability and artistic design.  As you step into the backyard it’s obvious that this person is using her land at its highest potential and accomplishing her goals.  A beautiful wood arbor marks the entrance to a vegetable garden located on the east side.  The vegetable garden is not only a functional item, but an accent, and focal point of the yard, with tall corn stalks and squash plants billowing over their boxes.  Fruit trees grace the fence line, and a new patio area extends out into the garden where a contemporary style fire pit and seat wall are located.   As you walk under the arbor, the trickle of water falling from a stone fountain catches your ear.  The fountain was carefully selected and located to complement the design of the yard and not overpower it.  The planting beds were filled with a selection of shrubs and perennials that will attract wildlife such as hummingbirds and butterflies, and a thick layer of mulch covers the ground to prevent weeds from growing.  One of the less obvious elements of this design is the use of LED landscape lighting.  They are much more energy efficient, and are one of the many items we offer.

OUTDOOR DÉCOR:  Christmas will here before you know it!  Save yourself the headache and the hassle and call us to do your outdoor Holiday and Christmas lighting.  We offer 110v (traditional) lights, lit garlands, and more.  Also available are energy efficient LED lights which save up to 80% on utilities! 

TIP OF THE MONTH

Organic weed control

Weeds are just one of those hassles that never seem to go away, but there are some things you can do to make your life a little easier.  An organic technique is to lay down a 2 to 3 inch layer of bark or mulch.  The bark layer will help prevent weed seed from germinating while providing organic fertilizer for the soil as it breaks down over time.  It also looks great, and it’s one of the many services we provide!  Another organic method is the tried and true hand pulling.  Sometimes there’s just no substitute for it.  It can be a great workout and the weed and any seeds it may be carrying can be removed from the yard to prevent more from growing.  For more severe weed problems consider hiring a company that specializes in landscape weed control.  Call us for details.
